enCOURAGEment

Life Can Be Tough

Life is really tough sometimes. For everyone. It can be discouraging. We can often feel like we’re a small sapling trying to grow up through the cracks on the busiest city sidewalk. It’s brave to look at the sun and keep growing. It’s terrifying. It’s worth it.

The purpose of the enCOURAGEment page and its subsequent blog posts is to encourage readers. I want to talk about the difficult things we as people, women and Christians face, the things that can be uncomfortable to talk about. I want to provide hope. Hope to keep growing, even when surrounded by concrete.

  1. While I have not suffered from depression, as you said, most everyone has been lonely before! I don’t have many friends, only 1 that I grew up with and went to church with until last summer. At that point, when we left after 13 years of membership, we started going to a church group that was renting the basement of our old church [yes, kind of awkward!]. We made quite a few new friends there but recently that group broke up for some fairly dramatic reasons, leaving my family with no Christian fellowship! We are still working through that and it left a pretty big hole in our hearts to lose all of the freshly made relationships. So, yes, lonliness is something I experience sometimes… This post is encouraging and I too consider physical detachment from God the worst punishment humanity suffered at the fall. Great work so far Krista! I look forward to the publication of future posts! šŸ™‚
